2G Does anyone sell HID retro fitted head lights?

I'd like to go HID but I don't want to do the work my self. I was wondering if there's a retailer that sells these already done? Looking for new head lights and new HID kit already installed and wired (neat & clean). I've see DSMers selling these on the classified but all the wiring / cutting is sloppy. I'm looking for something that looks OEM and is professionally crafted.

most hid bulbs you can buy are plug and play. its pretty much taking the halogen bulbs out and putting the hid bulbs in then plugging the ballast into the stock wiring. you just have to order it for the correct bulb sizes in the car

What about the projector housing? I've looked at the tutorials, and it's a lot of cutting and gluing.

projectors are completely different from hids.

To my knowledge there is not a person or company that sells hid projector housings that have been installed in any headlight housings for our cars

The cleanest way to do it, is to convert a projector style eBay headlight to a mishimoto style projector housing.

Otherwise I usually just stuff a plug and play kit in my stock halogen headlight housings. Just be sure you re aim the headlights after installation or you'l be blinding everyone

Morimoto mini h1.. Basically the most easiest retrofit kit for our cars. It's the closest thing to bolt on. Only have to drill out the rear reflector, screw the projector in and cut the shroud to fit.

look up the definition of retrofit and you don't necessarily have to run hids in a projector.

Yes you do. Unless you like wasting your money on crap hids that scatters light everywhere instead of being focused and blinding incoming traffic. Not to mention the term retrofiting when used with hids means replacing the stock reflectors of a car never equipped with them.

any hid in a stock housing is garbage imo. leds will provide better lighting in the stock housings. but you don't only have to use hids in projectors. they make led conversions for projectors as well. although im kinda iffy on the output of the led in a projector housing. we have them in my gfs genesis coupe on the low beams and im not quite impressed with the led in her projectors.

Problem with those cheap non OEM LEDs is that their light output in lumens it's no better, and sometimes worst, than halogens. They have high failure rates because of heat dissipation problems. They give a false sense of being brighter because of the higher color temps(kalvin). People tend to correlation white lights being brighter than an yellow halogen.

you can run other bulbs other than hids in projector lenses genesis coupe has a projector lense with a halogen bulb in the base model..... and I beg to differ on aftermarket leds. ive got plenty of pics of great output with the ones in my daily driver. leds aren't rated by the kelvin scale and those companies that try to put that kind of info are retarded.

Again. What are you talking about. All lights (halogen, led, hids...etc) are rated on a Kelvin scale. That's how you know what color the light puts out.

To the OP., Again the morimoto retro fit kit is the easiest system you can use. Very little cutting/ and as close to bolt on as possible, for a retrofit. Both the mini H1 and mini d2s are good and I've used both.

I did Mini H1s in my stock headlights. Pretty nice with a good quality set of HIDs and ballasts. But it sucks a big fat dick with cheap ebay hids My car had when I bought it.

I used the graphite shrouds and had to notch the black trim piece inside the headlight to fit the shroud.

The hardest part of it was using a heat gun to get the headlights open.

PM Me if you want to discuss building a set of retrofitted headlights. But I suggest just getting a set of stock headlights from ebay and DIY, Its hard to mess it up as long as you have a decent sized oven or a heat gun and a dremel/grinder/ or cut off tool of some sort. And if you don't you can get what you need at harbor freight for pretty cheap.

That's what I was thinking of doing. My car currently has cheap eBay headlights that I want to trash. Do OEM lights come with the rubber seal to the fenders? My eBay lights didn't and I have a gap there.

I mean mine are the original headlights from 1999. I don't know that you can find much new old stock headlights, but if you can that'd be your best bet. Otherwise you'd need to find them from a part out or perhaps Miller Import Parts.

I don't know that the reproduction headlights come with them.
