Your car will probably boost more than it is supposed to. I say just buy a manual boost controller to replace it.

I read somewhere that if the BCS is disconnected, you will only boost to about 9 PSI (w/ T25) (Edit: The BCS restrictor removal tip in the Tech Guide)

Just get a MBC as 1992awdlaser suggested. Cheaper to replace + better control of your boost. You can make one yourself, but I think you should just save your time and buy one. You can get one off eBay for $11 shipped. Search "Manual Boost Controller". 15 minutes to install (if that), 15 minutes on the road (if that) to adjust boost to optimal settings....

Basically an MBC is a cheap, easy, effective replacement for the BCS.

You will boost to 9psi if you BYPASS BCS. If you simply yank the vacuum line off of it, you'll overboost (depending on which line you yank.

Usually removing the BCS completely from the car results in a CEL. That's why it's recommended to cap the nipples but leave the electrical connector plugged in when upgrading to an MBC.

If you can't hook up an MBC because of emmisions and visual inspection, just connect a hose from your j-pipe to your wastegate actuator. I'm not sure about the exact numbers on a 1g, but it should be around 10 psi.

Same goes for those 2g drivers out there, except it's a line from the compressor to the wastegate actuator.
