Do I need coolent sensor???

Alright so my car is only a drag car now and I am running a water temp gauge with a sensor.

Do I really need the other coolent temp sensors that go to the ecu?

On the thermostat housing you have 4 sensors I am going to start from top to bottom. the one on the thermostat neck that faces the ps headlight is not needed. It is for the a/c system only. The one below it is the ECT sensor and is needed for the ecu to see what the coolant temp is for starting in the winter for the fiav and iac to work right. The one on the housing wth 2 vac lines on it is for the egr temp bs and is not needed ever even from the factory, and the last sensor is the guage sensor for the cluster. I guess short answer is if you have full stand alone then get rid of all 4 if you have factory ecu keep the ect and ditch the other three. goodluck sorry so long

You need the one that goes to the ECU if you don't want to foul out your plugs everytime you start your car (with a stock ecu at least), the rest you don't need.

Not if you have ECMLink V3. With it you can "lock" your coolant temp reading at 230*.
