I just ordered an Apexi Neo and it will be here tomorrow. Do I really need a tach driver? I mean I'm an automatic so if the Tach is off a little I really don't care. What does not having a tach driver do?

Some aftermarket tachs require a tach driver because they are designed to work with a distributor. If you don't have a distributor (and dsm's don't), then you may need to get a tach driver to make it work right. The tach driver wires inline with the ignition coils and senses the current through this wire and converts this information to a 12 volt signal that most aftermarket tachs use as a trigger signal. So on the Apexi Neo I'm not sure if you need one, but if you do then no you probably can't run it without one.:(
