Do I need a logger

I have a 92 Eagle talon tsi. Im not sure if I need a logger for this setup. I bought the stage kit from dejon, the uicp, 3" gm mas and the maf-t and intake. I do not have any fuel mods yet. Will i still be able to run this setup with out any fuel mods, and if I need a logger how hard is it to install and what brand of a logger should i buy.

At a total cost of $30 in stuff you have no excuse not to. Even without the new parts you should have one.

If you are running that setup you are going to want a logger. You wouldn't really be able to adjust the MAF-T at all without a logger telling you how your car is performing. It'd roughly be like trying to install a new program on your PC at home without having a monitor to look at to see what you're doing.

I got a logger right after I got my boost gauge and my car was stock so that should tell you if you need one or not

How do you setup a logger and use it and install it.

First step is you need a palm pilot - nothing fancy but make sure its on the compatibility list of the following link: http://mmcdlogger.sourceforge.net/#Palm Support

Second step is to download the MMCd software from the link above and install it on your palm pilot.

Third step is to your data logger cable. It plugs into the OBD port located next to the fuse box in the driver's side kick panel. Instructions for making the cable can be found here: http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/showthread.php?t=203316

Fourth step: Connect everything up, run the program on the palm pilot, and start logging information from your onboard sensors such as: knock, timing advance, rpm, tps, fuel trims, etc.

I would say $30 is well worth the money, when your talking about using a GM MAFT setup. Just my .02 cents.
