Yeah you think that's sick go find one with a well suported 20g you will piss your pants

I dunno. I seen a B18C w/ a T3/T4 turn in a 10.9 something on slicks. I hate to be a loser I love my 1G and all, but this is TV, i bet they give the win to the Chick just to make her look good, and boost honda's sales. JMO you can hate on it all you want. Is her car a hatch or a coupe? If its a hatch on 300whp +good tires, She will turn in a time lower than 12. H22 Hatch w/ bolt ons and a good driver can turn in a high 12 at 200whp 160lb tq.

I hope the 1G wins though, :p But i'm not gonna put my money on a car in some TV show.

and SOB i just brought back an old post LOL... my bad :(

oh really  maybe you should check the other 10 threads on this

umm yeah just thought i would make note on this particular one.

Yeah, I was flippin thru tv. and I saw a red talon and some street racing so I figured I'd sit on that channel ..

Low and Behold - TSi Talon whoppin a broken axled honda's ass.

It took almost 10 grand in donated parts to bring that honda into the same racing realm as the Talon with 2 grand of mods.

Well its true the civic had a lot of sponser give her stuff for the car like the gsr motor and tranny. Then they rebuilt it and put a turbo on it, but then again she had a sohc that was turbo to start with. They fast and furioused it to much for me, but i would watch it again .Now you know what happens when a honda guy builds dsms, they keep the 3 bolt and put on 4 slicks. They also do the only thing that makes honda quick they use a 125 shot of spray and they run it.I saw his 60ft it had to be a 2.2 and he still broke axel but i do thing he had the power to have a mid 12sec dsm. I would have put and 16g on it myself and use the nitrous to cool the intake charge but I didnt build it.

Obies car recieved over 7k in parts( I love hearing the guys"7K and it went what blah bla blah?) donated by Clutchmaster(clutch+ flywheel) Nitrous express(full nitrous kit) Toda(cam
gears) Aem(standalone computer system with tuning) 16g Turbo upgrade, M&H(all 4 slicks driven down from Northern Cali right after Johns fathers funeral ) Fuel pump, Intercooler and custom in house(Autolink) fabbed piping, Timing belt(too late and cant think of the company name right now...blue belt somebody help me out), misc gauges, exhaust sytem and some other stuff im brain farting on right now. Just because all this is installed doesnt garuntee a fast car. As any racer knows it comes down to driver or driver error. Another fact is he did kill an axle and when the car was taken back to the shop the axle somehow was hanging on by the boot and boot alone. On top of all the clowning we did, which is what made doing the show fun,we worked our asses off to install all these parts on a deadline while taking individual on camera interviews which took us away from actual work for three hours of the total build. I dont think most people can appreciate what it really took to put together 1. a car we really didnt like (Mitsubishi,we are not DSM fans nor had a choice in car or claim to be DSM tuners)and 2. do it in under a certain amount of time and have it filmed. With that being said.....editing.....editing played a huge part in what is really showed. Its Hollywood what can you expect? You actually believe the whole idea we were going to put Nitrous on the car after we found out what she had? We had the kit on order expecting to put it in the car anyway. The only difference is what HP shot were going to use. Hollywood played the biggest part in the way the show was made. Could it have been different and successfull? Sure, but do you want to watch a bunch of guys yelling at each other while they are wrenching......oh wait...thats American Chopper. Its already been done. They tried doing something different that the average Joe could understand. If the show runs again alot more people will have input into the way the scene is portrayed and changes will be made. Will everyone like it? Shit you cant please everyone. Give it up to Discovery Channel,Apexi,Autolink, all the tuners,Leila,Obie, all the people that donated parts and anyone else that had a hand in creating the show. So much negativity......no wonder this industry has such a hard time getting any major sponsership or coverage. Without all the drama it would be a show about 6 guys 2 girls and two cars.

so his setup was:
clutchmasters clutch and flywheel
nitrous express kit
toda adjustable cam gears
AEM standalone
16g
M&H slicks
fuel pump
fmic
timing belt
misc guages
full exhaust

that with an experienced driver should have hit really low 12's. too bad they didn't have a datalogger on it, woulda been interesting to see. they also don't mention anything about injectors but on the show you could see an aftermarket fuel rail so i'd imagine there were some on it. i also hope to god they weren't running stock boost since they never said how much boost he was running or list a boost controller in the buildup unless they used the aem to do it.

I was also there the night this guy, with the Ig dsm (from the discovery channel special) came to hemet. As far as him killing everyone there. I only saw him race two cars. the SE-R TURBO, which I have raced three times myself (full quarter marked off)the SE-R uping the boost. I bet him three times (on a diffrent night). The SE-R raced the SVT LIGHTING, SE-R won he also raced the STI 2x 1st race STI had traction control issues. 2nd race turned traction control off STI won. Then he raced the 1g and the 1g bet him. I did not race him that night. I was still working with a 3 bolt rear end. Already snap two axle one on the street and one at the track. I was looking for a four bolt at the time. So as far as the comment made that he smoked everybody there. This is not true. He only race two people they were good races much props. BUt I would still like to have my chance. I hope to see him at the track and the SE-R he is quick as hell to much props mike for running a 13 flat at fontana. This is all in good fun not for street wars. I just want to make my car as fast as it has the potiential to be. race safe have a good time and get some good kills. see you at fontana cause hemet is played out for street racing way to hot. :dsm:
