Disconnected plugs?

Hey, I was looking around the bay and found some plugs that I do not know the use of. The car is a 96 tsi awd. has a 97 motor in it. Pictures are attatched, any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Plugs are by the manifold by the coil pack.

Looks like the plug for the A/C, does the car have air conditioning?
