Disabling Daytime Running lights on a 2g?

I saw the other thread on disabling the drl's but was not sure about what do do with the "black box"

The pictures show the box and another piece of the wiring (please ignore the rest of the engine bay, I'm planning to clean it tomorrow )

Would I just open it up and mess with the wires inside?
