Dirty Clutch Fluid

Change the clutch fluid in the reservoir 6 times and it still really dirty. Unlike my break fluid reservoir should i only had to change 2 times for it to be nice and clear and clean. Any ideas why?

thats because the rubber seals on the piston for the clutch master cylinder are disintegrating creating a black sludge that makes youe fluid look dirty. it probably needs a rebuild.

Dredging up another old post...

I'm currently having the same problem. A few months back I rebuilt my master cylinder and I checked in a week or so later and the clutch fluid was black/grey looking. I took a rag and got most of it out and poured clean fluid in there again, but when I checked again the next week same thing. I've tried cleaning it out of there 4-5 times now and it always comes back. I've been meaning to rebuild the slave cylinder was well but haven't been able to find any crush washers to replace the ones on the line. I remember when I bled the day I rebuilt the master cylinder, it was shooting out lots of crud and I kept doing it until it was coming out clean so I'm pretty sure its not old dirty fluid. So what could be causing this?

Clutch itself feels pretty light compared to how it used to be. I've been constantly adjusting it trying to get it right. I think the problems might be related =).
