Digital oil pressure gauge wiring

Does anyone know if you can run an aftermarket digital oil pressure gauge through the stock oil pressure wiring or if you have to use the adapter and adapter plate for the oil filter?

Has to have its own wiring and its own sender

You don't have to use a sandwich plate.

Remove one of the plugs in the stock OFH and tap it for 1/8NPT then run a remote mount sender set up.

I got the sending unit installed and didnt even have to tap a new line in. It fit perfectly into the old sending unit port. Gotta run power lines still but after that I should know if everything worked out or not.
