i just wanna know what the diffrences are if there are any between a 4g63t 1st gen. engine and a 4g63t 2nd gen. engine. ultimitly what i wanna do is buy a 2nd gen. car and build a good race engine to put in it so i need to know what engine to get because i dont wanna do any of the 2g to 1g engine mods

thanks
Gunner

biggest difference would be the 6 to 7 bolt swap that occured around mid 94. all 2nd gens have the 7 bolt engine while most 1g's have the 6bolt with a few 7 bolt 94's.

on the same note though... exhaust manfold, intake manifold, 02 housing, maf, fuel rail, and lots of other things are different between 1g's and 2g's, most being interchangable and better from gen to gen.

so every thing should be fairly interchange able and i wouldnt need to do alot of modifications and it should fit fine it sounds like the main thing is the 6 and 7 bolt factor
but what i was lookin at buying was a 4g63t with a awd tranny so there shouldnt be many problems should there
