ive got the 1.8L 4g37 in my 1g Eclipse. its been getting very hot lately, (red spot on temp gauge) and the resivior boils over. this is about 5 mins after driving, part of the problem is because its low on coolant because the coolant is leakin into the cylinders (when i refilled it with coolant the other day the car had alot of trouble starting and sputterd alot and would die if i didnt give it gas and poured white smoke out of the exhuast, it looked like seafoam almost) so i need new head bolts because my are stretched a 1\8th inch more then allowed. (new cylinder head and Gasket) so im getting new ones) but b4 i put the new cylinder head on it still had a heating problem, i took out that center plastic part (fake light) to get some more air into the engine bay (which helped alot) but it was sitll running hot.
should i replace my thermastat or waterpump or what?
