is there a difference in the 1g fwd and awd ecu's? i heard that an awd ecu a mild upgrade and will make the car perform better. is this true?

I haven't heard of a difference between fwd and awd ecu's. The only difference between ecu's that I know of is between 91-94 and 90 cars along with automatic and manual transmission cars.

I don't think the 1Gs have it but the 2G FWDs have a speed limiter built in that caps the speed off at ~135mph. This is because the FWDs came stock with H rated tires.
