Did I mess anything up??????

Alright today I was messing with some stuff on my 95 Talon TSI. I took off the oil cap and was checkin everything and i put everything back together of course except that oil cap. The cap was abotu 3/4 on and I drove abotu 45 miles withit like that until i realized it. I popped the hood and realized that there was some oil all around underneath. Well oil was all around and i cleaned as much of it up as i coulid. I checked my dip stick and it said that the oil was still inbetween the 2 lines so tahts good. But do u think that i coudl have messed somethign up or just made a mess? Thanks.

Also ever since ive had my Talon i just realized that the boost control solenoid hose coming off the intake hose has been disconnected ever since ive had the car. I just found this out and i reconnected it. With this being off was i losing and pressure of boost or losing any power? Thanks

Check the oil level afterwards, if it didnt drop to low then you proably have nothing to worry about from that unless you were driving it like a maniac. 45 miles isnt that far.

Yes, you were losing some power most likely, but you also had some unmetered air coming into the intake, although probably very little because the hole for the BCS line is very small. When you disconnect the BCS, it boosts the minimum it can, which on the T25 is around 9-11 psi im pretty sure.

Yeah, as long as your oil level is still safe afterwards, then all you did was make a mess. I have a buddy that drove his Buick for over a year w/o an oil cap. Abviously, it's not recommended to not use one, but I'm sure no harm was done in that 45 mile period.

i dont think any damage was done unless the underhood gnomes dumped buckets of water in there. usually they overlook something like an oil cap and resort to disconnecting your hoses and intercooler pipes.
