When it gets around 10 F my car gets into a mood of not starting. It may be really rough for a secound or two the first time that I try starting it in a while. It'll putter out whimpy backfires from muffler if I floor it. Before I know it, the cylinders are flooded and I have to pull the air compressor out. Ive removed all my emissions and use an aeromotive fpr.
I want to know where the cold start feature is located and what it looks like because I think that may be to play.
Does this sound like a faulty coolant sensor?

It could be the coolant temp sensor, but running an afpr and an safc could have something to do with it too. It could be either too rich or too lean. How heavy of oil do you have in there? Some cars have a seperate cold start injector and sensor/switch, ours are just the ecu using the coolant temp sensor to richen up injectors while cranking and a little bit after that.

well i also have a wideband, ive tried starting it from an afr of 12 to an afr or 15.5. fuel pressure is around 40 psi. Mabye turn the fuel pressure down?

edit* The turbo is no longer a 14b. something like a gt35.

Fuel pressure stock 2g is 43.5 psi, I would turn it up actually and see if that help you start. You will have to take more fuel out of the afc then, which will make your car think there is more less load, and will throw more timing advance at it. Also, I'm not positive, but i don't think the wideband is going to be accurate when you first start the car. It needs to warm up first.

alright. ill try turning it up. The connection between the clip and sensor was shorting (wireharness clip broke and had to gehtto rig the connection. So i got a new clip to put on the harness and a new sensor to put in. I hope between this and the fuel pressure the problem lies...
