New cold start problem

I have a 91 talon tsi awd 5spd. the car runs great and has plenty of power the only problem I am having with it is that the fast idle when it is cold has quit working it was working fine I went to work came out that night and now no fast idle when cold I just hold the gas a few seconds and let it warm abit then it will idle at 900 any ideas would be apreciated. I did do a search for about 2 hours and nothing came up except for fast idles and all the time low idles.

Thakyou for the reply, but those are not the problems I am having. I have plenty of fuel pressure and the car does not surge at all, when I start the car cold it use to idle at 1200 rpm until it started to warm up and then it would drop to 900 rpm. now it just idles at 900 rpm regardless of temp and when it is cold out it want stay running because it stays at the warm idle of 900 rpm unles I manually press the gas pedal then it will hold at any rpm I choose. I am just trying to figure out exactly what controlls the idle of the engine when it is cold, I hope I am not sounding rude but I just want to be able to start the car on cold days and go back inside to let it warm up.

I also forgot that when I it is cold or warm when I hit the ignition it never turns over more than 1 revolution before it fires up, dont know if that might help
