I'm purchasing some 18x8 wheels for my car, and they have the option of +38 or +48 offset. I tried searching offset, but i was unable to find a conclusive answer. Currently my car is lowered 1" on eibach prokits. I plan on adding 225/40/18 tires to these wheels. So which one is the better choice and why?

Get the 38mm offset and consider 235/40/18.

Our stock offset for 16x6 is 46+ offset. By increasing the width by 2" you want to lower your offset so it doesn't rub the control arm.

Because they are wider?

Actually 235's are a tough size on 18's. The diameter is either too big or too small.
