I know it's been covered, and I've been reading a lot, but the forums are notorious for half finished threads that don't get resolved so here's what I'm looking at.
I want to run a max of 600 AWHP on my 98 auto with a 6/7 blade HX(super)40 on E85 tuned with ECUFlash. I did the math and found out I need 1600cc injectors and 2 fuel pumps and all that good stuff. I'll have a seperate tune for gasoline in case I can't find E85 at some point. I will be sticking with 7 bolt until I have a reason not to.
My initial plan was to build a 2.3 stroker with a 4G64 crank, but since I'll be replacing the rods and pistons anyway, why not just go with a straight 4G64 w/4G63 head? It's only a little more expensive but gives you better angles and whatnot.
I love torque, the car's going to be a daily driver and cone killer, not much into the drag racing. I guess my main curiousity is how does a 4G64 with forged rods/pistons (purpose built for 4G63 head) hold up versus a 4G63 with 4G64 crank with rods/pistons (stroker of course)? At that point the only thing really different is the block. Assuming equal builds, which one holds up to the test of time and daily use?
