Dealer Parts?

i have a 1989 Eclipse....

Is it still possible to get Dealer Parts for this car?

I have been told by no by a friend but he makes a lot of crap up, I would check for myself, but the nearest dealer is 45 minuets away and I don't want to drive there for noting.

Probably not. Dealers are only required to carry parts for 10 years. What they keep producing after that really depends on demand. Some of the dsm vendors do carry oem parts. It all depends what you are looking for...body parts->forget it...engine parts->maybe. You can always give the dealer a call to find out.

You can get some parts from the dealership still, what are you looking for EXACTLY?

Exterior things at the moment. but it would be nice to get OEM 4G63 parts.

I posted about it in another topic, at the moment the only things I'm looking for is the "DOHC 16 Valve" sticker that goes on the side of the car by the windows.

The second thing I'm looking for is a 4G63 N\A 7-bolt Wiring harness (92-94) I've looked EVERYWHERE DSM Graveyard, Junk yards, Ebay, everywhere. and I cant find crap. It's the final piece to my swap.

I have a 1989 Mitsubishi Eclipse (Base Model) with a 7 Bolt 4G63 N\A swap.

A lot of the decals aren't made anymore, with that being one of them I believe. I couldn't find it in CAPS.

And surely, you don't want to see the price of a brand new wiring harness. Have you tried DSM Graveyard? Or post a WTB ad?

I said checked DSM Graveyard. I've been on the phone with them several times, they said if they get a hold of one they will let me know.

and yes I don't want to have to pay dealer price for a 7 bolt wiring harness, but yanno what can you do if you cant find one?

I haven't posted a WTB ad on the forums yet, I actually didn't even think about that, but I have posted alot on craigslist and looked into several DSM owners who are parting out.

You have a 90, they didnt make an 89.... regardless of what your door sticker says, its a 90. That may be part of your prob.

and also the title to the vehicle should say 90.

well hey.... if you need a wiring harness for a 90 i have a 1990 FWD Standard Tranny Wiring harness but its for a turbo!! I also have the ECU that goes with it!! Not Sure if you can use a turbo harness in a non turbo car but why couldn't you?? (some one explain if that is false)

ok first off.

I refer to my car as a 1989 because it was made in mid 89

second.

The car came stock with a 1.8L 4G37, I now have a 4G63 7-Bolt n\a out of a 93 Plymouth laser, along with ECU. so i am looking for a 92-94 n\a wiring harness

i thought the words swap and base model would have been a dead give away.

cuase 1g eclipses didnt come with a 4g63 in the base model, they came with a 1.8L

second swap means to swap out the stock engine with another engine.

you can get parts off a 94ish hyundai elantra they have the 4g63 also.

i was distracted so i guess i missed the words SWAP.

the graveyard doesnt have many harness i know, im there once a week, look at a junk yard for most of your parts, there arent many if any old parts for our cars.

yes dealer will cost you, i get stuff there when i cant get to the graveyard here, plus discounts. a harness, find one from the junk yard and pull it. my buddy just bought one for his 2g and it was new, he spent a bit, but in this recession, money is tight.

thing is 2.0L's 1G's in the Junkyard are pretty much on heard of where i live.

they crush them the same week the cars get in, because they get stripped SOOO Fast.

I got really lucky when I got my motor w\ Mounts and the ECU from the junkyard
