today I decided to unfubar the engine bay since i have to do the piston rings anyway. Looking at the bottom of the hood i can see where the positive side terminal from the battery has touched and shorted once before so i decided to do a battery relocation. since once the car is running perfect i will do a full wire tuck i didn't worry about hiding everything just making it neat.

here is hat i started with

None of the ground straps were connected except for the one right near the battery. All the rest were just hanging like an old mans junk.

Here is what I did for the positive side of the battery

I drilled a 5/8th inch hole thru the firewall and grommeted it for the 4 gauge to pass thru so it wouldn't fray from vibrations. I connected it to a gold plated distrabution block that I mounted to a piece of plexiglass that I mounted to the subframe. From there i pulled the lead for the started and the line to the fuse box for the alternator.

I will be doing the same for the grounds on the other side of the subframe.
