i see on the site for Pocketloggers.com that the palm m515 is compatible with thier progam.now if i purchase the software from them i should be good to go with the palm m515 right? is there anything missing from thier pakckage?

I'd go with your original choice. If you purchase the software from them, it comes with a cable that will attach to your palms cable. I like the Pocketlogger program over any of the free versions of software out there, it is more user freindly, has more features.
The m515 is on their compatibility list, so it should work.
