Bought a cheap ebay knock off carbon fiber trim kit till I can pay the 140 for the real one. Wanted to see what it would come out like for 25 bucks LOL. Anyway whats everyone think?

To me this kind of stuff looks cheap and played out. I have seen this kind of stuff start to peel once the car gets hot in the summer.

ya for 25 bucks it can peel off an I wont be too worried about it. The real carbon kit is 140 an covers the same area. Just thought it would be interesting to see what it looked like

oooh. i bought the same kit for my lancer. i was so disappointed. by the REAL KIT.

knew it wasnt gonna be like the real thing but it is something different to look at. Cant say I was jumping up and down after it was done but chrome might have looked better. Either way Im gonna leave it for a couple days and if its overly disappointing Ill just peel it off

i would say it came out pretty good other then the crease in the center console. for $25 not bad

By real thing do you mean the same stickers with the bubble of clear goo on top? I doubt a true cf interior is only $140

use 3m dinoc worth every penny and you really CANNOT eff up the installation the stuff is very forgiving.

Looks fine, the old stuff was probably showing its age huh. I bought ebay "cf" mirrors for a cavy a few years ago. It lasted about a month before it started fading and flaking off. Once any of that gets scratched its all over.

And yea $140 for a real cf interior kit sounds way too cheap.

Mitsubishi Eclipse Carbon Fiber Dash Kit Trim Parts - eBay (item 320619635748 end time Mar-19-11 09:27:19 PDT)

This is what I was referring too. Since ordering everything either wraped in CF or made of CF is completely out of my budget at the moment. This is probably the CF with the "goo" on top but should make the very stock feeling interior look a little better an is the exact same layout of what is curently installed. More or less was looking to see what it would turn out like and personally I dont think its all that bad. A lot of you are right tho about getting scratched or the extreme heat I am sure. Just a 25 dollar experiment thus the poll

id say get it overlayed in CF.. both the 140 and 25$ looks janky imo..

you can always check me out when you want some real CF stuff done ; )

not to sound stupid but I have never seen a DIY dash paint job that came out right. The only way I know to paint it is to take it somewhere that does it professionally.
