The original owner of my Talon let a mouse make its home in the car before I bought it. I have pulled most of the nest out. I know there has to be more though, because the car smells...Badly.

Now I know the only way to take everything apart to clean it thoroughly, is to take the whole dash out. I have a dad that will not allow me to do simple things like this though, because he always feels the need to do it himself.

Every time I say I need to take the dash out, he complains about how once I do that then put the dash back in, I will have noises coming from everywhere.. I honestly do not believe that for a second.

So, for everyone who has taken their dash out of their car, then put it back in, are you dealing with access noise?

I would really like to know, so I can have something to say to my dad if I attempt it. That or so I know not to attempt it.

Thank you all in advance!

Noise never had a issue, what kind of noise, dash comes out, goes back in simple as that.

I believe my dad is worried about the car and/or dash making creeking sounds.. Or whatever sound it might make. Why it would even matter, I do not even know (considering it is my car). Go figure.

Just bolt it back in as it came out and it will be the same as before you took it out.

Your dad might be trying to say about loosing things left when putting back in.
If you leave any loose part in, it will be a pain in the B**,...
Just make sure everything is tight an neat and you will be OK.

When there is a loose part inside, It makes a terrible noise and at some point you don't even what to get into the car.

I do realize that if everything isn't done right, yes, things can make noise. With the write-ups here on 'Tuners, how could I go wrong though? As long as I follow the directions "to the T", I should be fine.

That and I had planned to change up the interior from brown to black/tan. I have most of the parts already.

This is what I mean when I say I have almost everything to swap my brown interior out. LOL

So as I see it, I am almost too far in to just say screw it!

its kind of a pain to take out and put in. it isn't hard per say but a little tedious with the way mitsu ran their wiring and ducting. just take your time. taking it off and putting it back. just remember what you did and reverse your steps.

I took the dash out of the Talon I sold last year to clean up some loose wires hanging down. No noise at all after reinstall.

I have taken 2 out and put 1 back in. The worst part is putting the dash back in. I haven't drove my car since I installed it but when I do I'll make sure to post and let you know.

Here is another question. Have any of you removed the big pad behind the dash? Along with the sound deadening? That was one of my other main reasons for removing the dash (besides cleaned the mouse nest completely out).

I believe I have found a dash too. An all black one for $75. I BELIEVE I should be able to swap my tan parts to it with ease.

I just removed a dash, there's a great how to guide here that I used to do it. Very easy. I haven't put it back in yet. Hardest part I would imagine is getting everything lined up. As far as the big pad behind the dash and sound deadening I haven't touched that.
