Hello all,
I've done my searching on how to remove a 2g dash, I was actually at a pull and pay today trying to get my hands on a beautiful black dash. I used one of the write-ups off this site to help me. My problem came with when it came to remove the dash from the car.

The dash just would not release from the front towards the windshield. I know there are fasteners along the front edge to hold it in, but every write up I looked at made no mention of anything special needing to be done other than just pull.

The only thing I did that didn't follow the write ups was dropping the steering column. I actually ended up tearing the dash from pulling so hard..sort of made me sad to damage a black dash :(

Any tips to help me next time I go to pull one of the other black dashes so I don't damage another?

I did, tweeters out, bolts out. Bolts under the airbag pocket out, as well as the appropriate harnesses disconnected (except for the one above the fuse block, because the write up said you could disconnect it when you had the dash partially out) I was genuinely stumped today.

Yeah, which is why I was so confused haha.
I know there is supposed to be something in the middle of the dash for support, but apparently there is something along the whole front edge, unless I had a oddball case for some reason. Maybe somebody whose done this a thousand times can chime in.

I just removed 2 2g dashes yesterday they are a simple you have 2 bolts under tweeters , 2 under cluster ,2 under covers on drivers knee panel , there are 2 on each side of the center after covers are removed 2 under the radio , 4screws holding a/c control and the airbag bolts you have 2 plugs that need to be unplugged behind radio and one on fuse block. if your dash has never been removed or windshield has been replaced the sealant from the windshield will make dash stick sometimes you have to give it a good pull. I grab from the airbag area and yank hard once it moves a little just slowly work it starting from the passenger side also make sure your cable from your center vent to flap is disconnected from the airbox you can reach it from airbag hole and it only comes off airbox side not vent side. the center support in the middle of the dash close to the window is just a pin no bolt there ... hope this helps .

I'll go give it a shot in the next couple days on one at the pull and pay, maybe I just wasn't pulling in the right places, or I missed a bolt on the drivers side. If anybody else has any suggestions please post em up.
