So after i got my head unit, amp, and speakers installed i noticed that my dash lights are out and anything connected to the dimmer switch are out. So turn signals work, as well as brights indicator etc, but H VAC controls do NOT. Anyways when i turn my turn signals on sometimes one will blink super quick and get stuck and continue to blink fast, other times it will do this off and on and sometimes it wont even do it at all! I looked underneath by the switch and didn't find anything abnormal or a burning smell from the switch. I have checked all fuses and none are blown. I remember installing the stereo there were two orange wires that both dealt illumination that i tied together on one end and the other to the stereo illumination wire, could this have caused something? What does this sound like? I can also hear a clicking sound for the turn signals from behind the stereo (im assuming this is where the module lives) when they are doing their "thing".

Sorry for the jabber, but any thoughts on this?

I would look into the orange wires quick maybe disconnect them and see if it solves the problem. It could be crossing wires there for some reason or just not getting thru properly. Make sure all the radio grounds are good and all your other connections are solid.

Do your tailights (not brake lights)and bumper sidemarker lights not come on when you turn the headlight switch to on? Easy thing to do is just start by rechecking everything you touched when you replaced the radio.

sidemarkers and tail lights come on

So i found some interesting wires that might give some more clues. I capped off the illumination wires going to my stereo and at the harness. I took off the lower dash and noticed to what seems to be a set of aftermarket wires (red, blue, green) being run from the a-pillar to the ECU. And also noticed there were two wires in the same spool being tapped into the ignition. Also found this Performance Control Module just laying under the seat. Anyone know what these wires could possibly be for and is it possible these are whats causing my issues? Should i still ground out the dimmer switch>?

UPDATE: I used a quick splice connecter and put both the black and black/yellow into the tap slot and crimped it. This was done before the plug that then splits to the dimmer switch. Does it matter? This also didnt fix my problem. See the last picture with the blue wire splice.

Another update: I ran the jumper wire from the black to black/yellow on the connector itself but kept blowin a 20amp fuse for the tail light. I replaced with a 30a seems to hold but the connector gets hot as hell. This does not seem right, it shouldnt be getting hot?

LAST UPDATE: FIXED! I had wired the two orange ilumination wires together, dont do this! haha. Wow rookie mistake and the last one i checked.
