I don't know exactly when this started. Possibly when I changed out the ecu with an eprom. Anyway. The dash and gauge lights randomly flicker from bright to dim. There's no consistant speed, temp, road condition, etc. that causes this. As far as I can tell none of the exterior lights are affected and I'm not losing any power to the radio or rest of the car.

Suggestions?

Have your alternator checked out - mine did the same thing, even though I didn't do an ECU changeout. I took the alternator out, took it to a shop, they shoved it on the test bench, and it was going out real bad.

Quick as a bunny rabbit, I bought a reman alternator from this shop and have been good since - no more blinky, blinky lights of sorts.

you might want to check for the ecu to be plug in nice and tight otherwise is going to make a short and could ruin your ecu and harness. also check the ground that you might recently modified.

You don't have to take out your alternater to check it they can check it in the car.I went through this last week.It was the 80 watt alternator fuse in the box under the hood.

dsm's kill alti's like crazy is f'n ###

They often die from either power steering fluid getting on them or from the heat of the exhaust. Most commonly from people not running the lower heat shield.

There's a reason for the alternator relocation kits out there.
