Hey guys, I'm having some issues with my dash lights. The guy I bought the car from had a seperate switch to turn the dash lights on so when you turn the lights on and keep the dash black. When the dash lights are on, if you try to use the dimmer switch the dash lights go off. The wires are behind the fog light/power mirror panel. My question to you is does the wire that the switch is plugged into plug in somewhere in the dash so the lights come on when the lights are turned on. If you guys have any knowledge of this please let me know, thanks....Pictures attached.

Looks like that is an aftermarket glowing gauge setup. My guess would be that the main power wire is tapping into the dimmer power wire and when you turn the dimmer down, the aftermarket unit doesn't have enough power to run. Reason being, factory dimmer switch will not work with an aftermarket setup like you have. Wire for the aftermarket switch probably goes to that black box or is in-line with the 12v + feed coming from whatever source.

Aftermarket gauges ftl, if worse comes to worse you can always get your self a dash harness.
