Here's the deal, i hit a deer about a year ago and I waited quite awhile to fix the damage. During this time I drove a different car. Sometime afterwards i took the JVC stereo out of my eclipse and put it in the other car I was driving. I noticed with all the open wires hanging in there that when I put my key in the car and turn it to the ON position that my dashlights were on even though my parking lights were off. The weird part was when i turned on the parking lights the dash lights turned off, so in otherwards it was backwards.

Later after i fixed the eclipse i go to put the stereo back in and now the dashlights don't work either way. The stereo was installed before i bought it, half of it is a aftermarket harness, and the other half is spliced wires. Could my illumination and dimmer wires stop my dashlights from turning on of they were hooked up wrong? It seems however i hook them up it still doesn't work.

sounds like a fuse problem. with those dangling wires in the stero slot, you could have grounded something out and blew a fuse.

Don't worry, it's not the fuses because I already checked them. I was asking if it could be the stereo's illumination or dimmer wires fault for the dash lights not working.
