Car loses #4 after a misfire at an apparently random point in time while driving the car. Still have spark, but my #4 injector is not firing. I have swapped the injectors around, and #4 continues to not fire. I have replaced the injector plug, and it still ceases to fire randomly, always throwing a #4 misfire DTC. I will lose the cylinder until I turn the car off (completely removing the key) a couple times. What could it be?

Pertinent information

2g
95 ECU w/ DSMlink
6-bolt
1g head
OEM coils

Thats great to know my 2g isn't the only one that does this. LOL I don't LOSE the cylinder but I do randomly throw that DTC, always being #4. I haven't fixed my issue, nor have I tried really, but yours seems a bit worse since it continues to run on three cylinders until you restart the car.

Check the injector resistor pack with a multimeter, for cylinder #4 you'd measure between pin 6 & 3 for 5.5-6.5 ohms.

You might also check the wiring at the ECU, possibly a pushed pin at the harness or intermittent connection. Its the GRN/RED wire going to pin 15 of the ECU... 2g ECU pin out

Thank you Corey, will check this tonight.

Just checked the resistance, all of them are at 6.5-6.4 ohms. So it's not the resistor pack.

*edit*

ECU pinouts look fine too. Nothing was loose with a light tug.

Found the problem for why cyl 4 was cutting out. Turns out, it's an ECU "limp mode" when it detects a misfire to save the cat. However, why I am having cyl 4 specific misfires eludes me.
