As the title says, my passenger cv shaft won't stay completely in. I have a '95 GS-T. It almost seems like the snap ring isn't doing its job. Also I have a KarKing differential. Could a defective diff be the problem seeing as that's where the cv shaft is supposed to stay. It's causing vibrations under throttle percentage more than 23% and alot of tranny fluid on my friends yard. Sorry it's not to detailed, I'm at work. All help is a ppreciated, thanks for the space.

Yea I've recently replaced diff, but it's the same cv shaft. The inside boot was torn, but the ball bearings were still good so I got a rebuild kit from one of my friends that works at Autozone. The ring was still on the cv shaft when I took it out, and was replaced because the kit came with a new boot, grease, and snap ring. Come to think about it and I've been having this problem since I changed the diff out. Thats what is leading me to beleive it may be the diff. I have had no such problems with the driver side. I just replaced the turbo, clutch, flywheel, 2 Throw out bearings, clutch fork, fulcrum ball, timing belt, and the diff. This is one of those tedious tasks that i cannot seem to solve. Thanks for the quick reply.

-Also, off topic but does anyone know if there is a special way to to line the motor/tranny mounts back up? I can get them all except the rear tranny and it makes a horrible clacking noise. Thanks in advance

When I did my project I had to replace all 4 mounts..........I actually had it hanging off the drivers side (old one) only, when I went to replace the mounts I put the PS tranny on first, did the back one second, and the front one 3rd, then the DS.

I'm willing to bet money that the missing tranny mount is what's causing the shaft to "pop" out on you. Also, you could have trashed the seal in the tranny for that side with the "flopping" around.

Also get the mount in place as that will lead to either broken axles, cracked tranny cases, other suspension issues, or a combination of the above.

Thanks for the info on the mounts. I see where you are coming from as far as the CV shaft popping out because of the mount. My car is on jack stands right now and I can push the CV shaft all the way in and it won't even stay there long enough to get all the suspension bolted back up. It's as if the ring isn't there. No noob mistakes here (the ring is there). It just acts like it is placed in there, not held like it should be.

The only other thing I can suggest is to check and see if the new diff ring groove on that side isn't full of crap and that the groove is actually in it. Maybe since the DS is longer not having a groove isn't as big of an issue as it might be with the shorter axle if the groove is not present.
