cutting the bumpstops

my car is getting a 2 inch drop today...how much does the bump stops have to be cut? its a combo of tokico hp/ goldline 2" drop on a 95 gs... any fast info would be appreciated:thumb:
 
I read on a magazine that were doing a 2 in drop on a GS spyder with tokico illuminas that bump stop should be cut in half. however, i just purchase a set of brand mew eibach sportlines wich lowers the car 1.6 inch all around and in the box it brought a paper with indications of alignment and bump stop triming instructions and it stated: "front bump stop trim bottom:35mm" and "rear bump stop trim bottom: no triming required"
 
Wow, do they really say trim the bottom? Most autoXers trim the top. You see, if you trim the thin end, then the bumpstop comes on very strong when you run out of travel and this can really upset the car in a corner. When you trim the thick end, the increase in effective spring rate is more gentle and gives you a chance to adjust before the car washes out.

Of course, they might be thinking that keeping the thick end is better for the shock, which is probably true. Just one more piece of evidence that most lowering springs are not really performance oriented.
