Cut off the rear o2 sensor. Bad?

While removing my stock exhaust i cut off the rear o2 sensor cause i read hear numerous times it didnt do anything. Will it end up causing any poblems, theres just wies there now.

No, there should not be besides a thrown cel, I believe you can buy the o2 elimator kit where it will not throw that cel by soddering the wires into it for the rear one.

would the cel bring on the check engine light? Mine hasnt came on aslo i havent been able to check with my logger because its currently not working

CEL is short for check engine light .

The rear sensor being inoperative on a 96+ car with OBDII computer system will throw a check engine light. It will in no way affect the performance to the vehicle. It is there to check the efficency of the catalytic converter. If you are not required to pass an emissions test were you live then you don't have to worry about it. If you want to fix it you can reattach the sensor. Another solution is to buy a O2 eliminator. It's a little box that will connect to your rear O2 sensor connector and "mimic" the signal the sensor would normally send. This will fool the computer to think everything is ok.

Well, one reason could be if the CEL bulb is burned out.. It's happened to me before

I have had an n1 installed for a few weeks now and still no CEL for it... and i know the bulb works becuase it's on for a fuel pressure solenoid malfunction...

Ignoring any CEL issues you should disconnect the plug where the wires connect to the harness. There is a hot 12v wire, a low voltage signal wire and two grounds flapping in the breaze once you cur the sensor off. If it gets wet you could short the 12v to ground or worse feed 12v into the ECU input. Both cases are likely to cause ECU damage.
