Custom wiring harness for a 2g

Has anyone here made a custom wiring harness for their car? I have an extra harness and I'm thinking of cutting everything out that is not necessary and cutting the length down so its not as long. I have my routed other than stock and it is just too long.

I have DSMLink and want to get rid of all emissions plugs and so on.

I know that a few people have just tossed out the factory harness and made their own from scrath. Save around 50lbs at the same time. I want to do this to my car over the winter but me and electrical don't get along to well.
