i have a 1993 mitsubishi eclipse gs non turbo f5m22 the stock tranny and it seems like the shifter for forward and back movement is about 1/4 inch too long.It wont engage first gear all the way but it is not adjustable but is it possible for me to cut the forward and back link on the shifters end in the car take a die and thread each end and make it adjustable with a threaded coller and 2 jam nuts thus making them now fully adjustable any input on this idea?
