Sorry about the title, I couldn't think of a better way to describe it. LOL

I have a Megan Racing header which has a T3 flange, but I'm wanting to use my 18g turbo on it. Soooo, I got a custom adapter made up at the local fab shop, and before running it with my new setup, I wanted to ask a question or two.

I'm going to throw some pics up first to give you an idea of what I'm talking about.

In a nutshell my problem is this. The bolt patterns are dead on, but the ports aren't. The port for the stock Mitsu turbo/header is a round hole, where as the T3 is square. There for the only gasket that I can BUY that would bolt onto the lower end of the adapter (turbo to adapter) would be a stock Mitsu gasket.
My question is since a good chunk of the gasket will be exposed to direct heat and pressure from the exhaust, will I have a problem? Or would I be better off having a gasket made or cutting and resealing the edges of a stock gasket and letting the cast iron of the turbo take the direct heat and pressure?

I've never had this issue before, as I have always used stock manifolds, or had the correct size flange on the turbo and header.

I was going to, then read a post on here like 2 seconds ago where some one cut their gasket, and it ended up leaking bad like a week later. I really dont wanna become a pro at cutting stock gaskets by practicing every week. haha

I'd rather cut the gasket than have part of it break off into the turbine of my turbo. It would have been best to make your two flanges the same shape as the gaskets. You might want to try a solid stainless steel gasket if your flanges are nice, flat, and clean. Several of the vendors sell them.

That's what I'm using.

Sorry about the poor choice of words, I'm not using actual STOCK gaskets, just the stock dimensions. I should have said TD05H :ohdamn: but i'm lazy and said stock.

So using the stainless gaskets, I should be ok? I couldn't think of why it would be a problem, but I figured if it had happened before, some one might give me a warning. :thumb:
