To start, I am looking for "looks & style", not performance. I have searched and I have found nothing, or maybe I am looking in all the wrong places? I have been looking for a Tubular Exhaust manifold, that will bolt up to a stock or aftermarket downpipe for a N/T. I have a few ideas on what I am looking for, but I need someone behind on the work, thus I have NO trade in metal work...:notgood: It be least to say I want something Unique!

First, Question. Is there anyone that would take me up on my offer and build me on? I would like someone close to the DFW area, but if you can work with me, then Vise Verse or a "Vendor" that I have NOT found that would like to have a challenge on something.

Any links to Vendors, or PM me, if anyone in the "AREA" is interested? Thanks for looking!

Some ideas: Ram horns? or the following links.

I know a guy.

I'd go with a Hahn kit if your not planning on doing an fabrication. but that's just me.

Well.. if you want the ramhorn look. Buy a t3 one with a 420a flange, off ebay or somewhere cheap, and buy a t3 flange and have a downpipe made with that. Pretty ridiculous I say. But you want it for looks.

@bagged420a -> No, I do not plan on turbo, it's a DD.

@TheEagle -> Not really my thing. Thanks for the input.

@constant_proj21 -> I was thinking along that line, But some fab work would come into play.

Thank you,

Thank you,

rent a tig and go to town, cant go wrong plus then you will get some experience, welding isnt as hard as everyone thinks.. it just takes seat time, when i pick up a TIG i plan to make some crazy manifolds just for fun.

Then why bother turbocharging it?

Then why is he looking for a turbo manifold? This kid is confusing :confused:

He isn't, he's looking for a tubular manifold for a N/T, that nobody makes, in what seems to be a specific style. Unfortunately, these are not Honda's, and I don't know of many companies building N/T (and staying N/T) high dollar stuff these days.

Pretty much your only options are to have either a downpipe fabbed up to work with a turbo 420a manifold, or to have a custom manifold made, that works with your existing downpipe. The way I see it, you would be looking at a large chunk of change to have a custom tubular, a custom downpipe would be a lot less. Any exhaust shop can make a downpipe. They may look at you funny when you hand them a T3 flange, and say you want that welded on as your DP flange though.

Where to begin? :aha: From the top I guess.

@urbansomker1 = Great, maybe I will see what I can burn down! Thanks for understanding.

@ed1380 = First, said stated, I am NOT looking to turbo it as everyone else seems to get the idea. Second, I am NOT "kid", I have a name, it is listed below...:D

@bulletdsm = Thank you.

@ktgurl87 = Right on the money! :thumb:

@Constant_proj21 = Very true, they don't, but I can buy a turbo manifold and get to work. I have thought of that too about what a shop would say.....LOL

you can spend 500+ on a manifold plus another what 200 bucks for someone to fab you a DP for that manifold.. OR you can buy a 700 dollar TIG and make 30 manifolds with down pipes LOL just thought id reiterate:rolleyes: raw materials arent THAT expensive..... plus you wouldent get anyone looking at you funny for trying to make a header out of a manifold

Materials may not be that much but someone with no welding experience will have no Idea what they are doing setting up the machine. Then there is the fact that materials need bent properly into shape to be welded to make any type of manifold. Also there is the matter that tubular manifolds need to be properly purged while welding or you end up with shit. There is a lot more to proper pipe welding than some think..

I will just have to see what I can create and then shine a little light on what I come up with or not! Thank you for eveyone's input. :D

If I were closer to you I would consider doing this but pipe welding and building a custom mani is one of my favorite fab projects. However I can only do custom stuff at work and that takes too long to be practical on my lunch breaks. I don't have my own equipment yet.

I forgot to mention that your cheaper route will probably be to pickup a turbo mani and have a DP made to match up with it.

I know that OBX used to make a RAM horn mani for the 420 eclipse pretty cheap.

Ya, I would travel to get something done, but that is a bit far, thanks for the input. :thumb:

you can buy pre bent pieces from vibrant.... and im not saying his first weld should be a manifold, obvously take some scrap and do a few beads. alot of the new miller tigs are comming with a welding for dummies book :p im sure he is fully capable of doing research to find out the correct amperage for the material. Once the machine is set up properly for the material, its not hard at all... Pedal down, start your puddle/torch at a 45* angle then bead along with proper filler dipping every 1/4 inch or so (to make the dime stacks)... obviously it would take time to get something that looks good but its well worth it in the end.
Just tack it to where you want the pieces to stay then weld each pipe together. it wouldent be as hard as making a turbo manifold with all the intricate weveing of the pipes.

Yes it really isn't hard to learn how to weld. Maybe lots of searching, thinking, and trial and error (how we all learned). Lotsa things you can do with an idea and a welder. I still like wire fed thought just due to simplicity.

Though welding a exhaust manifold? Seems like work and could be halfway sketchy unless you have time and skill.

Getting back to the main point in all of this... why make a shiny unique exhaust manifold that serves well... zero purpose? I don't see getting such a heavily modified manifold, but as I said, that's just me. I'd just go along the lines off...
