Has anyone made a custom dual stage boost controller with the stock bcs in a 1g? I just figured out how to do it and it should cost less then 5 bucks. I have not seen anything on this. Why pay for it when it could be free.

The BCS works off a ground. In other words it has 12 volts to it and a ground either opens or closes it. If you have a set up like this:

Boost source---------------MBC----------Wastegate.
Then you tee the BCS into both sides of the mbc like this:

Boost source----------Tee---------MBC--------Tee-------Wastegate.

Now run a toggle switch to the ground side of the stock BCS.

With the ground on the bcs will be open and allow straight vacuum to the wastegate which will open at it's lowest setting. Then when you turn off the ground the BCS is closed allowing the MBC to regulate the vacuum up to the desired boost level.
Get it?

Rad! Thats awesome dude. Have you applied it in a working car yet?
Well I did a test on it and it seems to work. I have not installed the toggle switch but I grounded the solenoid and did a pull and the car boosted to 12 psi. I then took the ground away and did a pull and the car boosted 15.5 psi. I am assuming that with my current bolton mods that 12 psi is as low as I can go with the stock wastegate. Has anybody done this mod before?

Sweet, let me know how it goes. Also, how are you hooking up the toggle for it? Under hood or long ass boost lines to the cabin? Because i'm still very iffy about such long line for a MBC.

Using the bcs as a solenoid for a dual stage boost controller setup should work fine. You mount the bcs under the hood, and run the wires from the toggle to the bcs, not run boost lines into the cabin.

Correct sir!!! I just got back from a little run and it works great. It is kinda hard to tell because of my stock turbo setup. I need to port my o2 housing to stop the boost creep. This will be great when I run my 50 trim and external wastegate.

plus ive been running it for like a year now, if you wanted to go more precise you could try putting an mbc before anything that way you have 2 user set boosts instead of 10psi and whatever, you can have say, 15 - 25.

you could also have it setup like i do. I currently have it setup in parallel with the boost controller, but so that it is normaly closed, and hooked to the ecu still. This way when you have excessive knock and the ecu says it's time to cut the boost to save ## engine it still can.

http://dsmtuners.com/forums/showthread.php?t=220530 i feel like ive been ripped off, its like the `10th one down on the turbo system intercooler tech, if you were really interested you could have searched

I am very very sorry. I did search and must have missed your tech article. That is the reason I asked if anybody has done this. I did think about running two MBC's but My car is not at that level yet. 16 psi is as far as my fuel system goes right now. Again I am sorry I didnt see your tech and this mod rocks.

no problem dude :thumb: i didnt mean for it to sound mean more like a jokingly manner, but yea, right now its set at 10 low and 26 high, my low is 10 psi for like 3 seconds then creeps like hell to 20psi ROFL...i honestly dont ever use the 10 psi because its just too slow for me ;)

That is probably the best way I have seen to depict a boost control :thumb:

Here's my idea in the same vien

Boost Src----tee to stock BCS-----MBC----New BCS ----tee to BCS-----wastegate

My thinking, please anyone let me know if I am screwed, now the car will run as stock as long as the New BCS is closed. When you flip the switch for the New BCS, you introduce the bleed from the MBC and should run your boost up. I have not tried this yet but will and report back. Unless someones can tell me why it would not work.....

Would this be considered a parallel setup?
