In case anyone is interested in custom door card ideas for a 1g. This came out pretty neat and is pretty simple.
.050 aluminum 24x48 panels
Self-adhering suede
Self-tapping screws
I’d probably suggest flush mounting the switches instead and hardware will look cleaner with bolt caps/covers (will install soon) You’ll need to reroute the electric mirror wires and shim out the 3 screws holding the door lock/handle by about 1/2” so it sits flush with the panel.
Saves about 4.5Lb per side. Probably more importantly though is it widens the inside by several inches. Looks sleek imo and gives you color/style options.
