You see the title, I am looking for info on this topic. Anyone done this and have good pictures? Either that or can you answer how you mount the FG panel to the door when you are done? Any info greatly appreciated,,,,,,Show me what you know!

a few people have done that on this site. what are you planning to do exactly? mount some lcds...remodel the door panel? check out some examples in the galleries.

I just want ot remodel the door panel and also so i can have a smooth panel to paint and CC, I am wondering how you get it to mount to the door?

C'mon, nobody has or knows of any website with a tutorial for this? Am I all on my own here?

:(

you've taken the door panel off before, right? i've never fabricated one myself but i would try to model some holders for the original pushpins that you find on the stock door panel. then just switch the pushpins over to the fiberglass panel.

WOW! A SECRET! *click*..... *loading*... "wait a minute!.....this isn't...."

check out my website. i have fiberglass enclosure for the front speakers on the bottom of the door, and a write-up on how to make them. if you're looking for the entire door though, i can't help you much there.

good luck

You may be tricky but I would be pretty ticked off if I was searching for something and all I came up with were a bunch of useless repeated links.....:D

BTW, it's nice to see a few familar names over here from DSMTalk. just thought i'd say HI.

Euro, is your door panel all plastic or what? mine has that soft vinyl-like stuff over it, so there's no way i can think of to get the fiberglass & filler to adhere to that. i'd love to do what your doing to my doors (or something similar) but not sure if i want to get a full plastic door panel from a base model. kinda cheasy looking for me.

so is your door all plastic or does it have some vinyl-like feel, and if so... how the heck are you getting it to adhere nicely?

thanks man
~Kurt

(BTW, i was pretty much banned from DSMTalk, that's why i'm here now. need a new place to hangout while at work & stuff)

My doors have that vinylstuf as well..but I made this mold..first layters to get some hardness..then put glue in between the doorside and the FG...then kept on Fging it til its thickenough.Once its hard/thick enough I screw it in place on hte edges...that way it can never loosen. I will not paint this..it will be dressed up in black alcantra.....as the hole door..
The hard plastic piece around the door handle will be painted the same color as the car though.a.s all the panels inside...cluster and so on...

ahh, that was my other thought, cover the whole door in fabric of some kind. too bad that's not my style. looks great when done properly, just not my thing. thanks for clearing that up for me
