Ok simply, i have a 1g bov. Can i crush it my self, if so how? or Where to get it crushed and how much?

far as i kno crushing a 1g bov will allow you to hold more boost and that is about it, but once again i am not positive

correct , the stock bov's are known to leak around 17psi , in order to crush it you need to stick it in between 2 pieces of wood and put it in a vice , you are supposed to have a vaccum pump with a gauge, you need to crush it a little and then check it, although it is easy to do this the dodgegaragemod ( http://www.thedodgegarage.com/turbo_bov_mod.html ) is a much better way to enhance the performance of your bov, because you can crush the bov to much and it wont open under low boost and ruin your turbo. crushing it doesnt give you any hp by itself. and the sound is slightly different , all your doing when you crush it is tightening the spring inside so it can hold more boost.

To crush it properly, you need a vacuum source and a vacuum gauge to crush it the correct amount.

Instead of taking a gamble if you don't ahve the equipment, I suggest modifying it like this. And you can make it operate like stock when you want it to:

Dodge Garage Mod

Here's a thread that discusses 1g BOV modification:

EDIT: obviously I take a long time to type :) . compression beat me to the punch by a long shot!

I just took a hammer to the top of mine. My well trusted mechanic showed me how. Its real easy just crush it a small amount so u dont completly crush the spring. It should beable to handle about 20-22psi crushed, and 15-17psi uncrushed.

Nice I did not know that they could handle so much. Yea I saw somebody selling just regular crushed bov's on ebay for like $80 or more people where bidding like crazy. I told my mechanic(who is a well known dsm guru) and he ran over to my car, took a hammer and crushed it. I thought it was funny people where buying these for so much, when I payed $5 for mine.
