Cruise question

Alright, recently my cruise control wasn't working. So instead of fixing it i decided maybe i should just get a non-cruise cable and rip all the cruise stuff out.

Complication: Tonight while driving around 47mph i put it into cruise for shits. Well. . . It worked.

The question: I have driven about 2 months without cruise, it doesn't bother me not having it. My main concern is mileage. Will not having the car set in cruise at say. . . 75mph lose mileage over using cruise?

I just finished a whole emissions elim. (still debating egr so i just have it disconnected from vac for now) and i didn't notice much loss at all in mpg. And honestly it's gotten better since i did the elim.

I'm going in circles now, sorry. Do you all think the cruise elim is worth it in terms of mpg and cleaner engine bay? Espically if not using it doesn't bother me?

When you are driving in "economy mode," that is, focusing on driving behaviour to optimize fuel economy, you can achieve better mileage than on cruise control. But many of us have de-evolved to the point that we no longer have an "economy mode" and our right feet have retained large amounts of heavy minerals, such as lead.

I tend to baby my car quite a bit just DDing. Maybe once in a while mash the pedal, but i rarely pull it out of economy mode. I agree though, it's hard not to drive around like a crazy person once you hear a full 3" exhaust scream once on a WOT pull.

I'm leaning toward pulling it out just for cleaning up my engine bay, and i have this silly notion that i might get better throttle response by not running 34588475087 cables through boxes and whatnot.
