I took the cruise control out of my car last night, and got frustrated with trying to figure out how to get it off the pedal, so i cut it. I have a new non cruise cable, but i was wondering the proper way to install it. I dont know how to get it through that plastic piece on the pedal.

It's just a clip and can be a pain in the butt. When I eliminated my cruise it took me a little while to get it off. Just keep at it!

Here is a quote from a tech article on the subject:
"Step 10: Lay down inside your car in the drivers floor board. Look up at the gas pedal. You will see a cable with a round ball at the end. Holding it into the pedal is that yellow duck bill type clip. To remove this clip all you have to do in squeeze it together and push it through the gas pedal hole. Once it is out, push the cable up and out through the slot on the gas pedal. Go back under the hood and remove the bracket off the fire wall that was attached to the pedal."

Hope this helps!

Its easy to install, just hard to get out. Sometimes the can be easy, but most of the time it is a PITA. You just have to pinch the two prongs on the clip together and pull it out. Easier said than done.

installing the new clip was easy. taking off the clip was hard. for the love of god it took me half an hour. and then finally i thought crap i can use pliers LOLo. you live and you learn!

im kinda wondering why you would want to get rid of the cruise, weight maybe, but i don't see how it could weigh much at all.

I appreciate all the help. I just couldnt figure out how the da^n thing was held in there im a big guy in a little car that is a tough spot for me to be in. just wanted to take it out, because it looks like crap all that junk
