im not sure if this is where this should go but
i was just wondering if anyone has wired some wires togher on the cruise control switch so it went on when the car starts up

i got this idea from a friend with a maxima, people were doing it on maxima.org

if anyone has done, knows some who has or has an idea how to do this please post, if no one does ill just start touching wires togher

Just wondering why you would want to do this? Is it that hard to just push the button? Anyway you could just hardwire it and take out any use of the switch all together. Take the switch out, keep it connected and test the wires with it off. Then turn it on and see what wire gets powered. Then just connect the two wires. Hope that makes sense.

There ya go, that oughta do it.

Seeya in the "My Dash Lights Don't Work/My Stereo Doesn't Work/My Car Went Through the Garage Wall/How Do I Put Out This Dash Fire?" threads.

Did this month's batch of newbies get here on a short bus?

i did it!!
ndilo21 the only thing i got out of ur post is why am i doing it? because i dont wana push the button all the time and yes it is hard when im goin home late and trying to sleep!!
but seriously its nice cause i would push it every time i started up the car anyway
anyway it was really easy, all i did was connected 2 plate things togher and took the metal conductor thing out of the swich, and i only blew 1 fuse and knew which one cause i blew it before :thumb: i dont think theres a way to just fuse 2 wires togher cause theres that black box that does something and i tried touching all the wires togher and the led didnt light up, i dont think it would anyway so if someone wants to drive down the highway and touch wires and try it be my guest OMG

im going to attach some pics 2 are before and after andthe last one is the stuff i took out of the swich
1 thing i didnt say is the plastic clips, just use a few flat screwdrivers and knives and they pop right apart

o and thats a good idea arming nitrous with it :thumb:

u really cant understand that? i wrote it in american, i dont know english

ok, simple verson:
step 1:
take the button cluster out and remove all 3 clips??
step 2:
remove the cruise control swich by taking a flat screwdriver and un-doing the plastic clips
now you have the swich in 2 pieces
step 3:
take the light out of the hole and put a screwdriver in the hole and lightly pry the chip out
now you should have something like the second picture
step 4:
solder a wire to the 2 plates as shown in picture 3
step 5:
put the screwdriver in the front plate with the swich on it and take out the brass conductor and spring, this is so it dosnt get 2 signals at once
step 6:
put the chip back in the swich, make sure the 3 leds line up to the holes
step 7:
put the back on, be sure all 5 metal strips are sticking out
step 8:
put the assembly in the button cluster and put that into the dash

if you dont understand that...

super simple cruise control for dummies
1.
put poxy(you have to mix it up) all around the swich
2.
duct tape the swich in the on position
3.
wait 24 hours and carefully remove duct tape :p

happy?

much better.

now my " anti 13 year old's ignoramus writing" filter lets me see it.
