I'm going to try a set of these and was looking to see if anyone else had used them but search came up empty. Anyone tried a set recently? Thanks, Mark

and he loves them. The idle is supposedly not that bad, but mark can come back and tell you all about them.Precision said:If you not running a standalone, you should concider the stage 3's. the 4's are WAY too loapy for a stock computer.
sweet97 said:Sorry, NOT TRUE! The stage 4's idle fine at the SAME rpm as my HKS 272's did, 950-1000rpm's.

Precision said:All of Crower's cams are all made from billiet cors. They are not regrinds. One thing to consider is a set of adjustable cam gears. To get the best performance out of those babys you need to degree the cams.

You are correct on the regrinds and the new cams you can purchase from crower. I just didn't feel the need to mention the fact that crower will regrind a mild cam set up for cutsomers. +1 for sweet for being informed.sweet97 said:Not true. I spoke to Brian Crower because a friend said he had a set of regrinds that were Crowers. We wanted to get the specs. Brian said they do make regrinds for the DSM's but only MILD grinds and they are not listed, you have to ask, $200./set. Brian said they are marked on the cam gear end with a number starting with the letter "E".
Certainly any cam is best when degreed but with todays CNC machines it's not as difficult to make a good cam time after time( or a bad time after time!:>). Also David Buschur will only use HKS and Crower cams and he does not degree them, I asked. Mark
PS: Precision is correct in that the standard Crower line up cams are made from NEW billet cores. The fact that David Buschur uses them should tell you something of their ability and the fact that he does not degree HKS nor Crowers also lets you know of the quality of the Crowers. I believe there is more power to be made with the crowers and it is a matter of time that they become a more common mod for the DSM crowd, especially the guys who are willing to NOT follow the beaten path. I also use a Holset turbo, not a popular turbo with these cars but still very capable and powerful, just different. Mark
