This thread is months old ad the OP has probably decided anyway...
But VETDRMS built a nasty 2.4 setup, and at first he had HG issues, but he had a theory that because the 4G64 was 87mm bore(.020" over), all the 4G63 gaskets were hanging in the bore a little bit causing a hot spot/melting/warping the gasket. He threw in the stock composite HG from a 4G64 DOHC which has an 88mm bore, and all his problems were gone. He ran VERY decent boost on an FP Black setup and that bastard boogied, with no HG issues. FWIW that's what I'm going to try out on a 3582R HTA on my 2.4 Long-rod.
