Crazy!!! I Know

This ones strickly for us newbies and 420a drivers since I know most DSM veterans and GSX owners wont be interested.
After doing much research on DSMTuners Ive come accross many many many questions about parts on ebay. Some speak from experience but most peoples response always starts with "I know a guy" or "Ive heard that" or what happens is they'll start talking about parts that have nothing to do with the original posted question. All though more then ever ive been seeing site moderators getting on people for thread jacking which is awesome. But anyways this gave me a crazy idea that im gonna share with the newbie world.

Since my car is pretty much a secondary car and it is just an RS so im not hurting anything special, im basically turning my car into my personal ebay project. Everything I buy for my car will be from ebay and occasionally dsm classifieds. Im gonna cover this project through Videos and Photos. Every part I get you will see the unboxing of and possibly some installations too. This will in no way be a guide for you to build your car, its simply just visual information so that you can make your own decisions reguarding ebay. To buy or not to buy, quality or crap, price, fitment, all will be covered. If you have any ideas or just wanna say im stupid crazy, im all ears.

PARTS ON THE WAY NOW: Headers, intake manifold, smaller steering wheel (IM A BIG GUY), stock cam gears, and my passenger door handle. Expecting stuff on friday.

There are a lot of great parts on eBay but there are even more terrible parts. If you know what you are looking for it shouldn't be a problem. I'm interested in how it goes.

yeah it should be fun. Everythings gonna be hit or miss. Like playing the lotto every time. Im hoping to learn alot about my car in the process.

Not a bad idea if you're willing to do it. A complete eBay project build. Should be interesting. Keeps us updated in a project blog.

Yeah, my friend used ebay parts once.... just kidding.

A few people on here said they were going to do a full Ebay build, but no one really followed up on it. I'd like to see what you find out.

yeah, i definately wouldnt do it if i had a gsx or anything with a 4g63. And i cant say how deep the build will go or how long it will take because im just like everyone else, I got bills and a lil girl to take care of. But its gonna be a fun journey and I think alot of people are gonna be interested in it or at the very least make some great conversation out of it.

I like the idea. I havent been burned by ebay as of yet. I just go by the "if it looks to good to be true" policy. Good luck and keep us posted man.

I personaly have a fake hks bov,ebay 3in downpipe,ebay 3in k2motor exhaust, ebay fmic kit from cxracing, and on top of all of that i have not had one problem with any of it.I think you can get away with some ebey parts, i think my BOV is pushing it, its a pretty big risk in my book, but sometimes if you want to save some money you can go to good old ebay.

thats amazing!!! no problems, im hoping ill have that same success. Im not quite at the turbo stages yet, but in time we will see the infamous ebay turbo come out and play.

Lol, I know a guy that did this same exact thing, even with enternals, once he got it all together, we fired it up and looked for anything that we might have done wrong, then we heard this weird noise and oil pressure just dropped instantly. Turns out, while it was sitting in the drive way for 15 min. it spun all four Ebay rod bearings, and two main bearings.

I also have a couple of Ebay parts on my car though, and I have never felt any down fall with them.

I'm not saying it wont work, all I;m saying is there are always two sides to everything. So good luck!

Im rocking a knock off bride steering wheel and have been for 4 years. Still works but you can definitly tell the difference in craftsmanship.

I'm running the same parts on mine. K/O HKS, 2.5 to 3in DP, 3in catback, made a short route ic kit with the ebay ic and piping kit. For a total of $246.

thats funny just now ups show up to my door. First unboxing vid will be made today. I think its just the manifold that i have plans for but im uncertain ### it sounds like more then one thing in the box. uh oh hope its not in pieces.
