I just did 350 miles yesterday and when I filled up the tank, it filled up with 13 gallons. That means I still have 3 gallons left and I was averaging 27mpg.

When I drove again tonight, I did 180 miles and I still have a lot more than 1/2 tank left. Almost 30+mpg

I know people worry about shitty gas milage but this milage is scaring me!! Its leads to make me think that the car is running lean and I'll blow the motor up or something.

I recently just fixed my boost leak, change my o2 sensor and changed a stripped turbo bolt. Do you guys think this might have gave me the mega gas milage?

Also, when I was driving. I was cruising at 80mph and I drove the car pretty hard every once in a while. The car was pulling exceptionally well. Actually, it hasn't ran better.

A FWD turbo DSM is rated by the EPA for 30mpg on the highway. You are in good shape. I think most people with DSMs don't get the advertised gas mileage because of our lust for performance. Driving like aunt Besse on the highway, I get 33mpg. Driving like a Duke of Hazzard, I get 14mpg. Your results may vary.

I get 11 to the gallon going easy. Yeah for cracked exhaust manifolds!

yeha when i was running 12psi with factory pump and inj on my S20 with s-afc i would adv. 330 to 360 a tank. after i put in 255 walbro hi flow and rewire, tuned it, put in my inj, and turned up the boost to 24 i would get about 100 to 160 a tank.... all depends on how you drive

I know that it seems unreal but as long as you set your cruise control and don't drive like a bad ass you can get great gas mileage. Last summer on my way to Florida I averaged 34 miles to the gallon and I had my cruise set on about 75-78 the whole way. of course my car was all stock for the most part so I am interested in seing how it does this summer too. Since I have done some more mods

That's so true it's kind of sad.

I just drove 180 miles the other day and figured i got 21 mpg. I also have a horrible cruise control that likes to make you sea sick. So i dont stay around the same rpm at all. It likes to go down to almost 20 vacumn then floor it and hit 10 psi then back down to 20 vac then back up again Anyone else have that problem?? . It pisses me off to no end!!!

I've found the computer gets a little confused on cruise once you put on a bigger turbo and up the boost. This makes a little sense when you think about it.

As far as gas mileage goes, it all depends on what kind of mood I'm in, and what's in the CD player. I went down to Virginia Beach last summer, and got over 350Miles per tank fillup the whole trip. I filled up twice, and averaged 28.9MPG over the entire week. This was mostly due to two things. First, I had the cruise control set to 75 the whole time I was on the Jersey Pike. Then, the rest of the trip was spent on back roads, averaging 40-50MPH in 5th gear, with the cruise control on. At that speed, I was over 30MPG.

Now that I'm back home and it's starting to be 'turbo weather', I get about 21-22MPG from a tank. 260Miles per tank is average.

Matt.

i drove from las vegas to LA and i got 28 MPG i was trying to be conservative. i think that was pretty good for a 99 GSX.
