when i did this, i peeled the whole cover off to glue it back down. i used contact cement, the kind in the glass bottle that you paint on. it held really well until the car sat in the sun, and the glue started melting... so has anyone found anything else that holds and doesnt melt?

The dash in my Cutlass was warping and seperating from the sun so I stopped by a local upholstery shop and he sold me some dash glue. Its thin and yellow, you apply it to both surfaces and let it get tackey, then I c-clamped it together, let it set overnight and in the morning it was perfect.

Did you guys completely take apart your dashes? Or just leave everything installed and work only with the airbag cover? I'm confused about how you guys clamped things down..

you take out the passenger air bag. its a couple of simple 10 mm bolts and screws away :thumb:

im gonna try some jp weld, but my left top corner is comming up, only a little bit, but it bugs me, do i have to take it all apart?

My cousin recently bought a 1995 Talon TSi AWD, and his passenger airbag cover is really warped. I was wondering if it is a common problem, and is it wasy to find a new one.

i have a 95 eclipse gst and my passenger airbag cover is warped too. I have not figured out how to get it to stay down but im getting there

I had luck once with some epoxy.

DISCONNECT BATTERY.

Take the airbag out, put epoxy (hardware store) on the bad parts (ALOT), get the airbag to stand up, then place bricks or other heavy objects on the repaired spots and let dry for a day or so. Place cloth around the airbag while drying to catch any drips.

My whole idea on it is just take it off and buy a new one you see them from time to time on ebay... i tried everything to get those to stay down... id just buy a new one...

Its weird, a friend of mine has a '97, & his is warped all to hell..I have a '96 and mine is fine. I always have used a sunshade in my windshield when out of the car..maybe that's why.

i had the same problem, i also had it happen to the vents on top. i was told to use a epoxy but i dont think there is anything out there that will hold when the heat builds up in the car.

wow, thats scarey, even static electricity ans set it off. make sure you are grounded or something.

I had this problem too. I used alot of epoxy and a couple c-clamps and let that sit for a couple of days. It held for about a year.

First disconnect the battery.Open the glove box. There are two rubber/plastic stoppers one on each side. These keep the glovebox door from opening too far.If you raise the door just a little these pop out with a little downward pressure.Let the door hang down, now you can see the bottom of the airbag.Remove 6 10mm nuts and bolts,(4 nuts 2 bolts). The airbag should lift out enough to unplug it and remove it.Get your new airbag plug it in,bolt it in,pop your stoppers back in place and your done.Should take about 10 to 15 minutes.
