Crankwalk 2G Automatic vs. Manual Transmissions

Is crankwalk more prone to happen in the manual transmissions more than the automatic transmissions in the 2G models? How much more often does it happen on the manuals?

Any slight movement of the crankshaft will cause the connecting rods to move, causing the pistons to move. and the engine is connected to the transmission via the flywheel and an ENGAGED CLUTCH (manual). I wouldnt worry about it though it can happen to any car manual or auto it is more prominent in manuals though. Unless you plan on installing a hrader clutch and adding some hp.

I have read about the crankwalk issues a lot with the 2g cars so that is what concerns me.

- Crankwalk seems to happen more in manuals. But there's also higher percentage of people with sticks instead of autos on this site.
- Crankwalk is overrated. It's prevalence has been blown out of proportion. Get a car based on what you want to drive and don't worry about it. If you doing an engine rebuild there are a few things you can do to help prevent it (maybe).

crankwalk only occurs when you are broke and have very little money to fix...

Ive never heard of an auto getting the infamous "crankwalk". I know there are a few different theories on what causes crankwalk, but the one that chrysler and mitsu told people was high pressure aftermarket clutches/pressure plates were to blame.

Crankwalk can happen in any car, so Im sure it could happen on an auto dsm, but the whole "plague" that surrounds our cars is more for the manual trans.
