I know that it's recommended to get an OEM, or any crank pulley is dampens harmonics. But here's the situation...

I've seen 2 OEM pulleys seperate, and heared about it more than once on here. I don't want to go with an OEM one.

I'm still using my OEM pulley. It has a ton of miles on it, and being that I completely rebuilt the entire motor, I don't want this one seperating on me.

I don't have a ton of money to blow on one, but I found one on Summit.com

http://www.summitracing.com/parts/ASP-339300/Application/?query=Year|1997|Make|MITSUBISHI|Model|ECLIPSE&prefilter=1

Anyone ever try one of these and if so, were there any advantages/disadvantages? I believe this one is a regular aluminum pulley, I didn't read anything special about it.

Thanks for any help.

Steve

I would personally not buy a pulley without a damper. I know your on a budget, but you may want to try a fludyne pulley. You will never have to replace the pulley again in your life.

See, and that dude is t3h smartness. :thumb: Trust us man, you won't regret it.

It would be nice if someone made an aluminum crank pulley but with a dampner.

i can not stress this enough, but do NOT use a fluidamper crank pulley on a daily driven boosted car. unless you feel like replace your engine. the fluid inside of those things can not keep up with our rpms when boost hits. and when the fluid inside gets out of balance, it could snap your crank. i have seen it happen on 4g's. just get one of them shiny ebay ones. they work fine.

It has been proven time and again on this site that it is one of the best possible solutions to our POS OEM pulley. Stick with OEM or fluidampr they have been proven over again on several occasions...
